CAIRO – 17 November 2024: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly highlighted the pivotal role of Egypt’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector, describing it as a source of hope for the nation’s youth and a key driver of development across all industries.
Speaking during the opening of the 28th edition of the Cairo ICT Conference and Exhibition (Cairo ICT’24), held under the theme "The Next Wave," Madbouly praised the rapid growth of the sector, attributing it to government efforts to enhance digital services, integrate technology into meeting citizens' needs, and accelerate economic development.
In his remarks, delivered on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Madbouly commended the exceptional organization of the event, which serves as a platform for showcasing the latest technological advancements in the Middle East and Africa.
"The government remains steadfast in its commitment to the ICT sector, recognizing it as a cornerstone for driving Egypt’s economic growth in the coming phase," Madbouly stated during a tour of the conference pavilions, according to the Middle East News Agency (MENA).
He emphasized the government's efforts to expand digital transformation initiatives, including upgrading digital infrastructure and broadening access to digital government services. These advancements, he noted, are part of a larger strategy to save citizens time and effort while contributing to the success of the presidential "Decent Life" initiative, which aims to improve living standards in rural areas.
Madbouly reaffirmed the government’s support for the ICT sector as a promising engine of innovation and economic development, aligning with its vision for a more connected and technologically empowered Egypt.
