CAIRO - 11 November 2024: The Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) affiliated with the Egyptian Cabinet shed the light on a report issued by Fitch Solutions for the fourth quarter of 2024 on the pharmaceutical industry in Egypt, which sees Egypt as a well-established pharmaceutical market.
Fitch's report, which includes 10-year forecasts until 2033, also sheds light on Egypt's performance in pharmaceutical industry as the largest pharmaceutical market in North Africa, noting that Egypt has a well-established pharmaceutical market, with extensive local manufacturing capacity and comprehensive and increasing health coverage.
The report explained that Egypt is striving to enhance and develop the pharmaceutical industry, and is constantly striving to innovate and manufacture new medicines, and provide an appropriate investment climate for various industries and sectors, especially sectors that provide a healthier and more sustainable life for its citizens.
The Information Center discussed what Fitch Solutions indicated that pharmaceutical sales in Egypt are expected to grow from EGP 138.1 billion in 2023 to EGP 152.8 billion in 2024. By 2028, the pharmaceutical market will be worth EGP 218.1 billion, at a CAGR of 9.6% in local currency. By 2033, the market will be worth EGP 325.9 billion, at a CAGR of 9.0%.
This comes as part of the IDSC's efforts to monitor and analyze all international reports that address Egypt or fall within the scope of Egyptian interests in various development fields.
