According to recent data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), the trade volume between Egypt and Saudi Arabia rose to $7.5 billion in the first nine months of 2024, compared to $5.6 billion during the same period in 2023, marking an increase of 33.9%.
Egypt’s exports to Saudi Arabia reached $2.4 billion in the first nine months of 2024, up from $1.9 billion in the same period of 2023, showing a growth of 26.3%. The main exports included:
Copper and related products valued at $459 million
Vegetables and fruits at $293 million
Ready-made garments at $128 million
Electrical appliances at $215 million
Iron and its products at $167 million
On the other hand, Egypt’s imports from Saudi Arabia grew to $5.1 billion in the first nine months of 2024, up from $3.7 billion in the same period of 2023, reflecting a 37.8% increase.
Key imports included:
Fuel and mineral oils valued at $3.4 billion
Plastics at $984 million
Organic chemical products at $208 million
Saudi investments in Egypt were valued at $511.3 million during the first nine months of FY2023/2024, a decrease from $2.3 billion during the same period of FY2022/2023.
Conversely, Egyptian investments in Saudi Arabia totaled $147.1 million in the first nine months of FY2023/2024, down from $190.1 million in the same period of FY2022/2023.
