Egypt's annual core inflation records 24.4% in October: CBE

CAIRO - 10 November 2024: Egypt’s annual core inflation rate recorded 24.4 percent in October 2024, compared to 25 percent in September 2024, according to the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
 
The CBE revealed that the monthly core Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Egypt recorded 1.3 percent in October 2024 compared with 1.8 percent in October 2023 and 1.0 percent in September 2024. 
 
Core inflation discounts or strips out certain categories that are considered more volatile.
 
According to data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), Egypt's annual urban consumer price inflation rate recorded 26.5 percent in October 2024 compared with 26.4 percent in September 2024.
 
Egypt’s monthly urban headline consumer price index inflation, recorded 1.1 percent in October 2024 compared with 1.0 percent in October 2023 and 2.1 percent in September 2024.
