CAIRO - 7 November 2024: Trade between Egypt and Estonia totaled $26.5 million during the first nine months of 2024, an increase from $22.5 million in the same period of 2023, according to recent data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
Egyptian exports to Estonia reached $3.5 million, slightly down from $3.6 million during the same period in 2023.
Key export items included plastics and related products worth $841,000, glass and glassware at $614,000, salt and pure sodium chloride at $501,000, various food preparations at $353,000, and inorganic chemical products valued at $331,000.
On the import side, Egypt's purchases from Estonia rose to $23 million in the first nine months of 2024, up from $18.9 million in 2023.
These imports were primarily electrical and mechanical machinery and equipment valued at $12 million, and paper and paper pulp products worth $2 million.
Estonian investments in Egypt during the first nine months of FY2023/2024 were recorded at $100,000, compared to $200,000 in the same period of FY2022/2023.
This economic data was released alongside Estonian President Alar Karis’s visit to Cairo, where he met with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to foster stronger political, economic, and cultural relations.
