Japan's JOIN explores investment opportunities in Egypt's infrastructure

CAIRO – 6 November 2024: CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Hossam Heiba met a delegation from the Japan Oversees Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport and Urban Development (JOIN).

Heiba stressed Egypt's keenness on collaborating with Japanese establishments because of their care about the developmental role of investments, and transfer of modern technology to the Egyptian market.

 

Hence, the GAFI CEO presented the investment systems and incentives in the sectors of transport, roads, ports, water treatment, logistics, technology infrastructure, renewable energy and recycling. He noted that the government targets to raise the share of the private sector in investments by 65 percent.

 

The JOIN delegation highlighted that the corporation had developed 46 infrastructure projects worldwide in the past decade, inviting GAFI to participate in EXPO 2025 to be held in Osaka on April 13-October 13, 2025, having as motto "Designing Future Society for Our Lives."
