CAIRO – 30 October 2024: The Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD), DP World, and the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) have signed an MoU to explore establishing a public free zone in the New Administrative Capital.
ACUD Chairman Khaled Abbas announced that the agreement covers a feasibility study for developing a 500-acre free zone within ACUD’s prime industrial site, totaling 1,958 acres along the Cairo–Ain Sokhna corridor.
Abbas noted that technical and economic assessments will soon begin, laying the groundwork for the final contract and the start of construction.
This project aligns with ACUD’s goal of creating diversified investment zones and a cutting-edge industrial city as part of Egypt’s fourth-generation urban development initiative.
DP World, coordinating with GAFI, will lead the development of this public free zone, targeting industries like electronics, automotive, FMCG, apparel, and footwear.
Abbas added that DP World’s global client network will be instrumental in attracting investment and trade to the new free zone.
