CAIRO - 26 October 2024: About 2,066 Chinese companies operate in Egypt, with investments totaling around $8 billion across diverse sectors such as textiles, clothing, home appliances, and animal feed, said Executive Vice Officer of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Yasser Abbas.

This came during Abbas's meeting with a delegation from the Egyptian Businessmen's Association and a high-level delegation from Linyi City, China.

In his remarks, Abbas affirmed commitment to providing full support to Chinese companies, opening new strategic partnership opportunities to achieve their goals in Egypt.

Egypt represents a key hub for the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative, Abbas said. 

The meeting was part of the Egypt-China Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference, organized in partnership with the House of Wisdom Cultural Industries Group.
