Cairo – October 2, 2024: Egyptian content creators have begun flooding social media as Google announced a significant change regarding payment methods for their earnings. Starting May 1, 2025, the company will transition payments for Egyptian residents from US dollars to the Egyptian pound.
While this shift is part of Google’s broader strategy to disburse revenues in local currencies worldwide, the decision affects a wide range of content creators who rely on these platforms for their income.
In a notification sent to creators utilizing services such as AdSense, YouTube’s AdSense, AdMob, or Google Ads Manager, the company stated, “We will no longer pay earnings in US dollars in Egypt.”
