EGX starts week in green, market cap. gains LE21B

CAIRO - 29 September 2024: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started the week in the green zone, adding around LE 21.2 billion to the market capitalization, amid local and Arab purchases.
 
The benchmark EGX30 rose 0.58 percent, or 182.18 points, closing at 31,459.09 points.
 
The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked by 0.87 percent, or 64.38 points, to finish at 7,490.03 points.
 
Furthermore, the broader index, EGX 100, increased 0.87 percent, or 91.81 points, ending at 10,669.45 points.
 
Market capitalization increased by around LE 21.2 billion, reaching LE 2.17 trillion compared to LE 2.15 trillion in the previous session.
 
Trading volume totaled 883.64 million shares across 113,915 transactions, with a turnover of LE 4.27 billion.
 
Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 90.37 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers at LE 13.44 million and LE 76.93 million, respectively.
 
Osool ESB Securities Brokerage, Alexandria New Medical Center, and Sabaa International Company for Pharmaceutical and Chemical were the top gainers of the session, each rising by 20 percent, 19.98 percent, and 19.98 percent, respectively.
 
On the other hand, Cairo Educational Services, Arab Pharmaceuticals, and October Pharma were the top losers, declining by 12.45 percent, 5.38 percent, and 3.60 percent, respectively.
