EGX ends Monday on mixed note

CAIRO - 23 September 2024: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday’s session on a mixed note, adding around LE 3.46 billion to the market capitalization, amid local selling.
 
The benchmark EGX30 inched down 0.05 percent, or 15.87 points, to end at 31,022.54 points.
 
On another note, the small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 1.10  percent, or 79.55 points, to close at 7,314.28 points.
 
The broader index EGX 100 rose 0.79 percent, or 81.37 points, to 10,417.14 points.
  
Market capitalization gained around LE 3.46 billion, recording LE 2.108 trillion, compared to LE 2.105 trillion in Wednesday’s session.
 
The trading volume reached 985.89  million shares, traded through 114,533 transactions, with a turnover of LE 4.37 billion.
 
Egyptian investors were net sellers at LE 195.31 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers at LE 16.91 million, and LE 178.39 million, respectively.
 
Cairo Educational Services, Sinai Cement, and Delta for Printing & Packaging were top gainers of the session at 20 percent, 20 percent, and 19.99 percent, respectively.
 
Meanwhile, El Ahram Co. for Printing and Packing, Arab Polvara Spinning & Weaving Co., and Osool ESB Securities Brokerage were top losers of the session by 4.78 percent, 4.65 percent, and 4.51 percent, respectively.
