Al Ahram Beverages compliments its 120+ years of operation in Egypt through New Investment of € 30M and new HQ relocation

Al Ahram Beverages Company (ABC), a pioneer in the Egyptian beverage market for over 120 years, a Top Employer for 2 consecutive years, with more than 1600 employees is pleased to announce adding a new executive office to its premises after 18 years of managing its operations from Al-Obour HQ relocation to its new HQ at MIVIDA business complex in New Cairo, effective September 1st, 2024. This strategic move is part of ABC’s continuous development and growth plans, reinforcing its trust in the Egyptian market and its commitment towards its people, ensuring the best working environment for ABC team.

Commenting on ABC recent growth investments concluded in 2023, Nikolay Mladenov, Managing Director of Al Ahram Beverages Company said: “As part of our ambitious growth plans and unwavering trust in the Egyptian market, we are proud to announce increasing our investment of almost 30 Million Euros in 2023. This includes our new headquarters in New Cairo, and a significant allocation went towards   injections for capacity growth into our Sharqiya plant, by  topping-up with two additional state-of-the-art production lines. These investments emphasize our commitment to innovation, expansion, and delivering exceptional value to our customers and employees.”

Adding his remarks on ABC new HQ relocation Nikolay said: “With a continued commitment to our people, we were keen to move to a new office space that offers an environment that suits our vision for the future. ABC new HQ in MIVIDA business hub is located in the fifth settlement, the new heart Centre for Cairo and the future business hub set between New Cairo and the New Administrative Capital.”
 
He added: “Our new office is not only distinguished by the strategic location, but also was carefully chosen and designed to be vibrant, offering a modern and flexible working environment that reflects the dynamic evolved ways of working to inspire our colleagues and wow our visitors, we have included some practices to be  more sustainable in our daily office operations including energy-efficient lighting via the installation of sensor-based lighting systems to reduce electricity consumption, introducing a paperless environment and transitioning to digital documentation to minimize paper usage, elimination of Single-Use Plastics through phasing out plastic and paper products in favor of reusable materials and Comprehensive Waste Management by implementing robust waste management and control measures . I am excited about our new office; which will be a place where our colleagues enjoy working together and a place they can call home for true togetherness.” 
 
This move underscores ABC’s confidence in the Egyptian market and economy, aligning with its broader investment growth plans that started earlier this year with the installation of 2 new additional modernized production lines at Al Sharqia factory for malt that produces the famous Fayrouz malt beverage, this development led to an increased production capacity volumes up to 3.7 MHL and created new job opportunities. Further to this investment, ABC is now undergoing a study to support decarbonization across its factories and operations in realization of the company’s ambition to reach its overall Net-Zero targets in scope 1&2 by 2030, and further across the value chain by 2040.

These investments are a continuation to Al Ahram Beverage Company’s commitment towards the Egyptian market and the environment in which we operate, thus ABC had invested more than EGP50 Million in the past 5 years in projects such as the waste management project in 15th of May area, signing a protocol with the ministry of Environment for improving water sources in Siwa. Additionally, ABC managed to stay on top of the healthy watershed agenda to deliver our products to the consumer in a sustainable way while giving back to the environment and society. Many initiatives took place to achieve more than 100% water balancing, over-achieving the set target for 2030 in year 2023. Moreover, in 2023, ABC managed to consume water efficiently, achieving 2.8 hl/hl for malt beverages and 4.15 hl/hl for total production sites.”
