CAIRO – 29 August 2024: The establishment of Egypt's inaugural green industrial complex within New Alamein City's industrial zone is spearheaded by Integrated Environment Technologies (IETOS) with an investment of LE 12 billion.
This groundbreaking initiative, detailed in an announcement from the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, signifies a pivotal step towards sustainable industrial practices in the country.
Encompassing an expansive 400 thousand square meters, this complex marks a significant stride towards environmentally conscious industrial development.
Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities presided over the inauguration ceremony, emphasizing the strategic importance of this venture.
The initial phase of the complex will feature three primary factories alongside feeder facilities, fostering the creation of 2,000 direct employment opportunities.
Manufacturing activities are slated to commence in the second quarter of 2025, with a substantial emphasis on local sourcing, targeting a local component between 60 to 70 percent.
El-Sherbiny underscored the Ministry's commitment to bolstering domestic industries and enhancing local content across a spectrum of products.
This commitment aligns with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's vision to elevate reliance on homegrown goods, promoting the localization of cutting-edge technologies and industries as a cornerstone of Egypt's industrial strategy.
