Egypt’s stock market closes in the green as IMF completes 3rd review of $8B loan

Cairo – July 30, 2024: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed its mid-week trading session in the green following the International Monetary Fund’s approval of the 3rd tranche disbursement of Egypt’s $8 billion loan.

Benchmark index EGX 30 was up by 0.65 percent to 29,039.42 points, while the Shariah-compliant index surged by 1.19 percent to end the session with 2,791.76 points.

EGX 70 jumped by 1.47 percent to reach 6,820.61 points, followed by EGX 100 which climbed by 1.35 percent to close the session with 9,720.71 points.

Tuesday trading value hit LE 4.69 billion with the exchange of 940 million shares.

Market capitalization was recorded at LE 1.988 trillion.

Trading on securities saw Egyptian investors as net buyers with LE 853.94 million. Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with LE 751.12 million and LE 102.81 million, respectively.
