Egypt explores ways of enhancing Apache's activities in energy field

CAIRO – 22 July 2024: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and John Christmann, the CEO of Apache Corporation, recently held a meeting to assess Apache's activities in Egypt.
 
 They discussed plans for expanding the company's business within Egypt, building upon the successful collaboration between Egypt and Apache in exploration, oil and gas production, and the utilization of Egypt's energy resources. Ahmed Fahmy, the Spokesman for the Presidency, provided a statement regarding the meeting.
 
Joining the discussion were the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Apache Corporation, as well as Karim Badawi, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
 
 President El-Sisi expressed his appreciation for Apache's achievements in Egypt over the past three decades, and he reiterated the government's commitment to increasing investments in the energy sectors to meet Egypt's growing energy needs.
 
Christmann expressed gratitude for the strong partnership with Egypt. He confirmed the company's intention to enhance production rates in the future by capitalizing on the numerous opportunities for new discoveries. 
 
He also emphasized Apache's dedication to adopting advanced technologies to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions from production operations.
 
The meeting also focused on strengthening economic cooperation between Egypt and the United States.
