CAIRO – 15 July 2024: The value of trade exchange between Egypt and Serbia increased to reach $120.4 million in 2023, compared to $104.7 million in 2022, an increase of 15 percent, revealed the latest data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
According to CAPMAS, the value of Egypt’s exports to Serbia recorded $30 million in 2023, compared to $10.8 million in 2022, an increase of 177 percent.
Vegetables and fruits came at the top of the most important commodity groups that Egypt exported to Serbia during 2023, with exports worth $5.7 million, followed by fertilizers worth $18.5 million, then plastics and their products worth $2.6 million.
The value of Egypt’s imports from Serbia decreased to about $90.4 million in 2023 compared to $93.9 million in 2022, a decrease of 3.7 percent.
Tobacco came at the top of the most important groups of goods that Egypt imported from Serbia during 2023, with an import value of $75.6 million, followed by grains worth $2 million, then electrical appliances worth $3.1 million, and devices and mechanical tools worth $2.7 million.
The value of Serbian investments in Egypt recorded about $173 thousand during the fiscal year 2022/2023, compared to $126 thousand during the fiscal year 2021/2022, an increase of 37.3 percent.
The value of Egyptian investments in Serbia amounted to $733 thousand during the fiscal year 2022/2023, compared to $440 thousand during the fiscal year 2021/2022, an increase of 66.6 percent.
