CAIRO – 23 July 2017: The Egyptian Tax Authority published an updated circular on income tax clarifying how the tax is calculated for each bracket after the tax discount lawNo.82 of 2017.
Citizens whose annual income is below LE 7,200 are exempted from tax. Income tax brackets of 10 percent, 15 percent, 20 percent, and 22.5 percent are for the following income brackets respectively LE 7,200 – LE 30,000; LE 30,000 – LE 45,000; LE 45,000 –LE200,000; and above LE 200,000.
