Upcoming Egyptian cabinet reshuffle, 20 key ministerial changes revealed

CAIRO – 02 July 2024: The new Egyptian Cabinet is set to be announced tomorrow. The upcoming changes are expected to involve approximately 20 ministerial position shifts, according to media reports.
 
Sources indicate there will be new appointments across several key ministries, including education, finance, agriculture, justice, social solidarity, petroleum, and electricity. Additionally, the economic group will see changes.
 
Notably, Kamel El Wazir is slated to be appointed as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Transport.
 
The potential new ministers named in the reports include:
 
- Sherif El Sherbini for the Ministry of Housing
- Ahmed Kojok for the Ministry of Finance 
- Sherif Farouk for the Ministry of Supply
- Osama al-Azhari for the Ministry of Endowments
 
Furthermore, the new cabinet will see the merging of the Ministries of Planning and International Cooperation, to be headed by Rania Al-Mashat.
 
Other anticipated appointments include:
 
- Maya Morsy as the Minister of Social Solidarity
- Mahmoud Fawzy as Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Political Communication
- Adnan El Fangary as Minister of Justice
- Sameh El Hefny as Minister of Aviation
- Mohamed Abdel Latif as Minister of Education
 
Additionally, the ministries of foreign affairs and immigration are expected to be merged under the leadership of Ambassador Badr Abdel Aty.
 
The Ministry of Investment is also being reinstated, with Hassan El Khatib slated to lead it.
Finally, several new deputy positions are expected to be created to assist the Prime Minister.
