Dabaa Nuclear Energy station
CAIRO - 26 June 2024: Chairman of the Nuclear Power Plants Authority Dr. Amjad Al-Wakeel, received Wednesday a high-level delegation from the Hungarian Paks Nuclear Power Plant, and discussed the Hungarian delegation aspects of cooperation between the Dabaa nuclear station and the “PAKS 2” nuclear station.
The Hungarian delegation was headed by Gergely Jakly, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Paks Nuclear Station, Laszlo Gabor, Director of Programs and Projects, and Attila Hojecs, Head of the External Relations Department and Ondráz Ermakovacsi, the Hungarian ambassador to Cairo, at the headquarters of the Nuclear Power Plants Authority in Abbasiya, Cairo.
The meeting was also attended by Engineer Mohamed Badawi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for Operation and Maintenance (Chairman of the Dabaa Nuclear Power Plants Authority), Engineer Khaled Attia, First Deputy of the Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant Project, and Engineer Hossam Ali, Second Deputy of the Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant Project.
Dr. Amjad Al-Wakil discussed with the Hungarian delegation aspects of cooperation between the Dabaa nuclear station and the “Paks 2” nuclear station in Hungary, especially in light of the fact that the “Paks 2” station uses the VVER-1200 reactor technology, the same technology used in the Dabaa nuclear project, in addition to the Russian general contractor for the Dabaa nuclear station project.
