Egypt, Azerbaijan trade volume increases to $362.8M in 2023

CAIRO - 9 June 2024: The trade volume between Egypt and Azerbaijan increased to $362.8 million in 2023, compared to $3.41 million in 2022, revealed the latest data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
 
Egypt's exports to Azerbaijan saw a surge, reaching $34.7 million in 2023, compared to $2.9 million in 2022. 
 
Among the key commodities exported by Egypt to Azerbaijan were fertilizers valued at $6.2 million, electrical machines worth $5.2 million, clothes worth $2.1 million, iron and its products worth $726 thousand, and vegetables worth $695 thousand.
 
On the other hand, Egypt's imports from Azerbaijan amounted to $328.1 thousand in 2023, showing a decrease from $507 thousand in 2022.
 The primary commodity groups imported by Egypt from Azerbaijan during 2023 consisted of animal products worth $109.2 thousand, gum worth $165.9 thousand, and seeds and oil fruits worth $50.2 thousand.
 
In recent news, Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi hosted a visit from his Azerbaijani counterpart and the accompanying delegation. 
This meeting reaffirmed both presidents' commitment to further enhancing bilateral relations across various sectors.
 
 They discussed the coordination of regional and international matters of mutual interest, as well as the exploration of available opportunities to strengthen economic and trade ties.
