CAIRO - 16 April 2024: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed a mixed performance during Tuesday’s session, losing around LE 10.17 billion of the market capitalization amid Arab and foreign selling.
The benchmark EGX30 declined 0.73 percent, or 215.63 points, to end at 29,400.84 points.
On the other hand, the small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 0.86 percent, or 57.87 points, to close at 6,754.02 points.
Moreover, the broader index EGX 100 increased 0.51 percent, or 48.43 points, to 9,632.94 points.
Market capitalization lost around LE 10.17 billion, recording LE 1.984 trillion, compared to LE 1.994 trillion in Monday’s session.
The trading volume reached 1.43 billion shares, traded through 140,403 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.43 billion.
Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 276.02 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 101.79 million, and LE 174.22 million, respectively.
National Housing for Professional Syndicates, El Kahera Housing, and Asek Company for Mining - Ascom were top gainers of the session at 19.99 percent, 10.61 percent, and 10.05 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, North Cairo Mills, Egyptian Gulf Marseilia for Real Estate Investment, and Arabian Cement Company were top losers of the session by 5.73 percent, 4.66 percent, and 4.46 percent, respectively.
