Ready-made clothing topped the list of Egypt's highly exported goods last December

CAIRO - 12 March 2024: Data from the Foreign Trade Bulletin for last December showed the development of the list of goods whose exports increased during that period, compared to the same month of last year 2022.
 
The bulletin data issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said that the list of the most important commodities included ready-made clothing, which recorded about $264 million last December, compared to $211 million in the same month in 2022.
 
This shows an increase of 24.9 percent, followed by fresh fruit exports, which amounted to the total amounted to about $240 million last December, compared to $232 million in the same month in 2022, an increase of about 3.6 percent.
 
The list also included exports of crude oil, which amounted to about $227 million last December, compared to $141 million in the same month in 2022, an increase of about 60.2 percent, in addition to exports of pasta and various food preparations, worth about $116 million last December, compared to $110 million in the same month in 2022, an increase of 5.0 percent.
 
The data of the monthly bulletin of foreign trade data for the month of December recorded a decrease in the value of imports by 8.2 percent, reaching $6.51 billion during the month of December 2023, compared to $7.09 billion for the same month of the previous year.
 
On the other hand, the value of exports of some commodities decreased, the most important of which are fertilizers by 48.8 percent, petroleum products by 46.8 percent, natural and liquefied gas by 88.1 percent, and plastics in their primary forms by 35.5 percent.
