CAIRO - 12 February 2024: The Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shokry, engaged in productive discussions with Tanja Fajon, the Slovenian Foreign Minister, aimed at fostering economic collaboration between Egypt and Slovenia.
These talks took place within the framework of the the second round of the Joint Ministerial Committee for Economic Cooperation between Egypt and Slovenia.
They seized the opportunity to explore investment opportunities in Egypt, with a particular focus on the automotive components sector, a prominent industry in Slovenia. Shokry extended an invitation to Slovenian companies to invest in this sector and discussed potential technology transfers to Egypt.
Furthermore, the ministers delved into various areas of bilateral cooperation, including information technology, artificial intelligence, agriculture, food, water management, education, culture, and support for small and medium enterprises.
Both ministries expressed their eagerness to expand collaboration in the port sector, encompassing new ports alongside the existing cooperation between Koper and Alexandria ports.
The Slovenian Minister conveyed her appreciation for strengthening bilateral relations with Egypt and highlighted the importance of enhancing investment and trade cooperation between the two nations.
