Monday stock market trading adds LE 21B to market cap.

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) remained firmly in the green, closing Monday trading with an additional LE 21 billion to market cap.

Benchmark index EGX 30 jumped by 2.10 percent to end the session at 29,227.79 points.

EGX 70 was up by 1.06 percent to 6,795.92 points, followed by EGX 100 climbing by 0.97 percent to 9,636.93 points.

Monday trading saw 1.56 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 7.15 billion.

Market capitalization was recorded at LE 2.070,2 trillion, compared to Sunday’s record-breaking entry into the 2 trillion mark of LE 2.048,7 trillion.

Trading on securities saw Egyptian investors as net sellers with LE 49.59 million. Foreign and Arab traders were net buyers with LE 27.88 million and LE 21.70 million, respectively.

The top gains of the session were by Misr Chemical Industries which climbed by 19.99 percent, Electro Cable Egypt by 19.93 percent, and Egyptian Transport (EGYTRANS) by 14.44 percent.

The largest losses of the session were by Arab Moltaka Investments Co which dropped by 5.14 percent, Saudi Egyptian Investment & Finance by 5.12 percent, and Alexandria Containers and Goods by 5.06 percent.
