CAIRO – 17 January 2024: Chairman of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Hossam Heiba inaugurated Wednesday the first 100-percent Vietnamese investment in Egypt.
That is a petrochemicals factory whose annual capacity is 300,000 tons of filler masterbatch used in the manufacturing of plastic pipes and plastic bags among others. The initial cost of the first phase is $30 million. The factory is established by EUP Europe Plastics and is dubbed EUP Egypt.
The EUP Europe Plastics owns eight factories in Vietnam. Their capacity is 600,000 tons. And, the revenues stand at $250 million annually. The company’s chairman asserted keenness on transferring its technological and professional expertise to the Egyptian market to enlarge the company's productivity and contribution to sustainable development in the country.
