Sunday bourse trading displays strong start to week with additional LE37B to market cap.

Cairo – January 14, 2024: Trading on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) soared during Sunday to start the week in the green with a strong performance, adding around LE 37.4 billion to the market cap.

Benchmark EGX 30 jumped by 1.79 percent to end the session at 25,974.84 points.

EGX 70 rocketed upwards by 3.10 percent to 6,140.08 points, followed by EGX 100 surging by 2.78 percent to close trading at 8,714.99 points.

Sunday trading saw 1.51 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 4.07 billion.

Market capitalization was recorded at LE 1.817,4 trillion, compared to Thursday’s close of LE 1.780 trillion.

Trading on securities saw Egyptian traders as net sellers with LE 90.91 million. Foreign and Arab traders were net buyers with LE 59.06 million and LE 31.84 million, respectively.
