CAIRO – 11 January 2024: Chairman Hisham Okasha of the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) shared with local media that the sales of high-yielding certificates, with rates of 23.5 percent and 27 percent, have generated LE 135 billion since their launch last Friday.
Mohamed El Etreby, Chairman of Banque Misr, also reported proceeds reaching LE 70 billion since the launch.
Both banks introduced one-year maturity saving certificates featuring a 27 percent annual yield or 23.5 percent monthly yield last week.
These new certificates, requiring a minimum purchase of LE 1,000, are easily accessible through online or mobile banking services or by visiting branches nationwide
