CAIRO - 3 December 2023: International Monetary Fund (IMF) Director Kristalina Georgieva said on Sunday that the IMF will strongly support Egypt in continuing reforms.
Georgieva told Sky News Arabia on the sidelines of the COP28 conference held in Dubai the help will come through IMF policies and financial capacity.
The IMF director expressed respect for all the steps taken by Egypt to create a better environment for private sector investments.
She also highlighted Egypt’s support for people with limited income, elimination of subsidies that do not target the poor in specific, and control of monetary policy.
Georgieva said the IMF is assessing the Egyptian economy, as the war on Gaza has given an additional burden to Egypt.
