CAIRO – 28 November 2023: Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), Walid Gamal El-Din, marked the beginning of the DP World-Sokhna Logistics Park project by laying the foundation stone. The project, situated in the Sokhna integrated Zone within the expansive Suez Canal Economic Zone, encompasses an area spanning over approximately 300,000 square meters.
With an estimated investment cost of $80 million, the project is set to generate 600 direct job opportunities.
The strategic vision of SCZONE is to position itself as a regional hub for an array of services, with a particular emphasis on logistics. By establishing logistic zones and parks and advancing development efforts in ports while promoting collaboration among them, SCZONE aims to enhance its potential to attract global investments in targeted industrial and service sectors.
Furthermore, the rising demand for goods amidst current global challenges necessitates the implementation of efficient and intelligent solutions such as logistics zones, which play a vital role in supporting global supply chains, according to statements by Chairman of SCZONE, Walid Gamal El-Din.
With the completion of the construction anticipated by the end of 2024, the first phase of the DP World-Sokhna Logistics Park project is expected to become operational.
