CAIRO - 23 November 2023:The Egyptian-Bahraini Governmental Committee has announced a series of collaborative initiatives and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) aimed at strengthening ties between the two nations.
During the first meeting of the Egyptian-Bahraini Governmental Committee for Commercial, Economic, Scientific, and Technological Cooperation, 15 joint cooperation initiatives and 13 MoUs were agreed upon and are currently being finalized with various ministries, state entities, and companies in Egypt and Bahrain.
The committee, led by Egyptian Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait and Bahraini Minister of Finance Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, seeks to establish a platform for collaboration and dialogue that will contribute to the development and deepening of bilateral relations between the two countries.
One of the key objectives outlined by Egypt and Bahrain is to enhance trade exchange by addressing obstacles that hinder market access and promoting joint cooperation between their respective business communities. The aim is to facilitate increased investment and intra-trade opportunities.
In addition to that, discussions revolved around offering private sector companies in both nations’ investment opportunities in the industrial sectors.
The Egyptian-Bahraini Governmental Committee agreed to establish a new Egyptian commercial center in Bahrain. This center will serve as a hub for promoting trade and investment activities between the two countries.
Furthermore, both countries are also working to finalize the necessary procedures for signing a mutual recognition agreement for the approved economic operator program between the Customs Affairs of the Ministry of Interior in Bahrain and the Egyptian Customs Authority.
