Thursday bourse trading closes week with mixed performance

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday trading on a mixed note, ending the week with a market capitalization of LE 1.473 trillion.

Benchmark index EGX 30 plummeted 2.26 percent to settle at 21,616.60 points, followed by EGX 100 which saw a slight decline of 0.01 percent to close at 5,945.97 points.

As the only index in the green, EGX 70 climbed by 1.1 percent to end the session at 3,919.11 points.

Thursday trading saw 759.91 million shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 3.51 billion.

Trading on securities saw Arab and Egyptian investors as net buyers with LE 27.32 million and LE 74.12 million, respectively. Foreign investors were net sellers with LE 101.44 million.

The top gains of the session were Ceramic & Porcelain which climbed by 16.53 percent, Lecico Egypt by 1.98 percent, and Ismailia National Food Industries by 9.97 percent.

The largest losses of the session were by Misr Fertilizers Production Company – Mopco which dropped by 10.08 percent, Wadi Kom Ombo Land Reclamation by 5.43 percent, and Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals – SIDPEC by 5.41 percent.
