The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) kickstarted the week with a strong push into the green, adding a significant LE 32 billion to the market cap.
Benchmark index EGX 30 jumped by 1.61 percent on Sunday, closing the session at 20,324.96 points.
EGX 70 surged by 1.22 percent to end at 3,751.74 points, while EGX 100 rose by 1.68 percent to close the session at 5,645.02 points.
Sunday trading saw 532.69 million shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 2.55 billion.
Market capitalization was recorded at LE 1.384 trillion, compared to Thursday’s LE 1.352 trillion.
Trading on securities saw Egyptian investors as net sellers with LE 24.29 million. Foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with LE 16.42 million and LE 7.87 million, respectively.
The top gains of the session were by Misr Fertilizers Production Company – Mopco which jumped in value by 16.67 percent, Delta for Printing & Packaging by 14.8 percent, and Orascom Construction PLC by 14.04 percent.
The largest losses of the session were by Madinet Masr for Housing and Development which declined by 3.3 percent, Acrow Misr by 2.9 percent, and EFG Holding by 2.77 percent.
