CAIRO – 7 October 2023: Egypt's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is making significant strides in its digital transformation journey, aiming to enhance citizen services through a comprehensive plan that encompasses data integration, the launch of the "Digital Egypt" platform, and substantial investments totaling LE25 billion.

In recent years, the Ministry has undertaken an ambitious effort to expand digital government services, progressively increasing the number of available services from 34 in 2020 to 168 in August 2023.

This rapid growth reflects the government's commitment to providing citizens with efficient, accessible, and user-friendly digital services.

The Ministry delivers these digital government services through various channels, including the Digital Egypt platform, a mobile application, the Digital Egypt Call Center, and Egypt Post, which offers payment card services and mobile wallets.

These services cater to diverse segments of the population, covering documentation, supply, farm licenses, commercial records, property taxes, social insurance, healthcare, and vehicle licenses.

Central to Egypt's digital strategy is its focus on empowering its citizens through the acquisition of digital skills, access to digital services, and participation in the digital economy.

The "Digital Egypt" initiative aims to simplify the process of accessing government services, expand the digital infrastructure to ensure widespread internet access, create opportunities for employment in the digital economy, and foster entrepreneurship and digital innovation among citizens.

In line with its digital transformation strategy, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has established robust legislative frameworks for governing the sector and protecting users.

Furthermore, it has created attractive regulatory frameworks to attract both local and foreign investments, fostering partnerships with the private sector and civil society.

Egypt's pursuit of a comprehensive digital transformation agenda is set to bring about far-reaching positive changes in the delivery of government services, offering a more efficient, transparent, and accessible experience for its citizens.
