CAIRO - 3 October 2023: The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) has announced the launch of the Infinix brand production line with investment of over $2 billion from TEDA – Egypt.
SCZONE, strategically positioned as a gateway to African markets, places immense importance on technological advancements. The newly opened Silicon Valley factory, spans over an area of 1,350 square meters.
The Chairman of SCZONE, Walid Gamal el-Din, inaugurated the opening ceremony of the Silicon Valley factory, which marks a historic milestone for Egypt, the Middle East, and Africa. The factory stands as the region's first specialized facility for the manufacturing of wearable mobile phone accessories, including smartwatches and Bluetooth headphones, according to a statement released by SCZONE.
"The opening of the Infinix brand production line in the Silicon Valley factory is a remarkable achievement in our ongoing collaboration with TEDA - Egypt. Their substantial investments of more than $2 billion in SCZONE highlight the significance of this project. We believe that technological industries are pivotal for our growth, and with our prime location and exceptional infrastructure, we are well-positioned to cater to African markets," Walid Gamal el-Din, Chairman of SCZONE, stated.
The Silicon Valley factory operates three production lines dedicated to these accessories, boasting a daily production capacity of 3,000 pieces per line. With a total investment of LE 25 million, the factory serves as the exclusive manufacturer for all accessories of the renowned Chinese company, Transsion Holding.
Infinix had previously committed to manufacturing its products in Egypt as part of the Egypt Manufactures Electronics initiative, championed by Egyptian President, Abdelfattah El-Sisi.
In addition to Transsion Holding, the Silicon Valley factory produces accessories for other prominent Chinese companies such as G-Tide, Infinix, Oarimo, and itel. It also manufactures products for the UniTronics brand, which is owned by the Uni Group, the factory's parent company.
