CAIRO - 25 September 2023: The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Switzerland increased by 7.8 percent to record $1.52 billion in 2022 compared to about $1.41 billion in 2021.
Minister of trade and industry, Ahmed Samir, stressed that Swiss investments in Egypt hits almost $2.2 billion in 433 projects, as Switzerland ranked 15th in the list of the most important countries investing in Egypt.
Samir welcomed the Swiss State Secretary of Economic Affairs, Helene Budliger, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, this came within the scope of strengthening bilateral relations between Egypt and Switzerland.
During the meeting, the discussion took place about the possibilities of developing joint economic cooperation relations in the fields of trade, industry and investment, as well as developments in the global economic sphere.
Samir also identified 152 investment opportunities for manufacturing in stressing that this will lead to investment opportunities for the Swiss business community.
Budliger affirmed Switzerland’s willingness to boost the frameworks of joint economic and trade cooperation with Egypt, as it represents a distinguished investment destination for the Swiss business community.
