UAE's ADNOC inaugurates its first station in Egypt with LE 50 million investments

CAIRO - 24 September 2023: ADNOC Distribution, a leading energy company, has inaugurated its first car service and fueling stations in Egypt on Saturday.

Located in the Degla area of Maadi, the station was officially opened by the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, in the presence of Cairo's Governor, Khaled Abdel Aal, and UAE's Ambassador to Egypt, Mariam Al Kaabi.

The launch of the new station marks ADNOC Distribution's first investment in Egypt's petroleum product marketing and distribution sector. 

With an investment of approximately LE 50 million, this demonstrates ADNOC's commitment to expanding its presence in the region and also contributes to the local economy by creating 250 direct and indirect job opportunities. The station can also supply 1,200 vehicles per day with natural gas.

Mariam Al Kaabi, the UAE's Ambassador to Egypt, emphasized that ADNOC's entry into Egypt is an extension of the strong strategic partnership between both countries. Al Kaabi also highlighted that there are currently 1,730 UAE companies operating across diverse economic sectors in Egypt.

This follows ADNOC's completion of the acquisition of a 50 percent stake in fuel retailer TotalEnergies Egypt in February 2023. As part of this transaction, ADNOC had already opened three service stations in Greater Cairo. Looking ahead, the company plans to launch an additional six stations across Egypt by the end of 2023. 

ADNOC's partnership with Total Energies Marketing Egypt further strengthens its position in the Egyptian market and underscores its commitment to providing high-quality services to customers.

The inauguration of ADNOC Distribution's car service and fueling stations in Egypt represents a major step forward for the company's expansion strategy in the region.
