Egypt scores successes in petroleum sector, boom in gas exports: Maat Report

CAIRO - 2 September 2023: The Egyptian state continues its major successes and achievements in the gas and oil file, and this comes at a time when Egypt is seeking to increase its reserves of gas, the demand for which has recently grown, in addition to the efforts of many European countries to secure alternative sources away from Russian supplies.

 

A report by the Maat Foundation confirmed that Egypt is still achieving great successes at all levels, and has succeeded in achieving many achievements in the oil and gas sector. This comes in light of the huge projects implemented by the state in this sector, as the oil sector continues to be a great success, and the Egyptian state is witnessing a major boom in the energy and petroleum sector, after major oil discoveries in various governorates.

 

The report explained that the Egyptian state has an ambitious plan in mind to transform into a regional center for gas trade, and to contribute to securing the needs of global markets, after its success in achieving self-sufficiency.

 

This came as Egypt possesses infrastructure represented by networks, liquefaction factories, and ports that qualify it to play this important role. The state strives with all might to provide energy sources, and continues to work in cooperation with all sectors of the state to achieve a balance between the sustainability of energy supplies.
