Austria's KronoSpan plans to build multipurpose wooden slab factory

CAIRO – 29 August 2023: CEO of Austria's KronoSpan Oana Bodea met Sunday with Deputy Chairman of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Amr Nour El Din to discuss the company’s plan to build a factory for the manufacturing of multipurpose wooden slabs.   

The factory will span over 100,000 square meters targeting primarily the local market, and later, foreign ones. The plant will be added to 39 others owned by the firm, creating 100 jobs.

The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones in collaboration with the Administrative Authority with Jurisdiction announced on Thursday offering 600 industrial land plots for investors.

Reservations can be made on the website of the Investment Plan, which is the investment promotional platform of Egypt.

Those are distributed among 17 industrial zones dispersed across 14 governorates. They are designed for the sectors of food processing, pharmaceuticals, engineering industries, chemical industries, spinning and weaving, and metallurgy.

The provisional conditions booklet is available online until September 9, 2023, while the deadline for documents submission and deposit payment is September 27, 2023. They can be done on the website after creating an account.
