CAIRO – 24 August 2023: Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced, Thursday appointing Ahmed El-Sheikh as the new chairman of the Egyptian Exchange.
The appointing decree was issued for a one-year term, effective 26 August according to a cabinet statement.
El-Sheikh will succeed Ramy El-Dokkany who has served as the head of the bourse since August 2022.
He has been serving as Vice Chairman of the Financial Regulatory Authority.
He previously served as the head of the Surveillance Sector and Assistant to EGX's Chairman for Market Affairs between April 2018 - December 2018.
El-Sheikh holds a BA in Accounting from the Faculty of Commerce at Ain Shams University.
He also holds an MBA from the Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences.
