CAIRO - 15 August 2023: Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Engineer Tariq Al-Mulla, inaugurated a number of development, modernized and efficiency-raising projects in some projects in Al-Hamra port, including the solar power plant project.
The following is the most important information about the solar power plant:
1- The solar power plant project has a capacity of 500 kilowatts.
2- The solar power plant aims to diversify sources of electricity generation and reduce dependence on traditional electric energy produced from the national grid at a rate of 1000 MWh per year, to reduce energy consumption generated from traditional fuels as well as carbon emissions.
3- The station was implemented by Gas Cool Company, at an investment cost of 11 million pounds.
4- The infrastructure of the petroleum sector in the new Alamein region, represented by the Al-Hamra Petroleum Port, is an important opportunity, where the petroleum sector is working to maximize its advantages and exploit in an optimal manner, according to the statements of Eng. Tariq Al-Mulla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
The minister confirmed that there is a vision and practical plans implemented by the petroleum sector to invest the great potentials and develop logistics and petroleum infrastructure in the port area.
The vision aims to allow keeping pace with the growth and continuous urban and developmental expansion in the El Alamein region and the western region of Egypt.
