CAIRO - 13 August 2023: Industrial Development Authority (IDA) announced the launch of the fifth phase of the electronic map for industrial investment, with an area of 1.7 million meters distributed over 14 governorates. The IDA also announced 152 investment opportunities in the industrial sector today.
This phase offers new investment opportunities on plots of land with full facilities in priority industrial sectors that IDA is targeting to encourage domestic and foreign industrial investment, in light of the strategy of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and to meet the increasing demands for industrial lands. The IDA will offer 790 plots of land across 14 governorates to local and foreign investors.
Abdel Karim added that the process will be done electronically and investors can withdraw the brochures online, starting from August 16 until September 6, 2023.
The 152 opportunities are across engineering products and supplies, chemicals, building materials, food and pharmaceuticals industries.
The authority said in a statement Sunday that these investment opportunities could contribute to bridging a trade gap estimated at about $30 billion.
Chairman of the Industrial Development Authority Mohamed Abdel Karim said that this is the second offering in less than 8 months, and the authority aims through these successive offerings to provide new and diversified investment opportunities, localize the industry, and deepen the local product to achieve integration between local and global supply chains to bridge local market gaps and support Egyptian exports.
Abdel Karim added these investment opportunities have been shared with relevant stakeholders, such as commerce chambers, and investment and business associations, in order to promote these opportunities and start implementing them. The investment opportunities are now available online on IDA’s website.
