U.S. dollar stands steady against Egyptian pound Wednesday

CAIRO – 16 July 2017: The U.S. dollar exchange rate maintained its stability against the Egyptian pound in Wednesday’s banking transactions, while the European Euro increased and the Saudi Riyal decreased.

The exchange rate of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) for the U.S. dollar is LE 17.88 for buying and LE 17.98 for selling, keeping Tuesday’s rate.

Recording the highest exchange rate, the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank recorded LE 17.93 for buying and LE 18.2 for selling.

Al Baraka Bank came at the second highest rank, offering an exchange rate of LE 17.91 for buying and LE 17.99 for selling.

Egypt’s biggest private sector bank Commercial International Bank (CIB) recorded LE 17.9 for buying and LE 18 for selling.

Banque Misr offered LE 17.84 for buying and LE 17.94 for selling.

Egypt’s biggest state-owned bank National Bank of Egypt (NBE) offered the lowest exchange rate at LE 17.82 for buying and LE 17.92 for selling.

As for the euro, it increased to LE 20.67 for buying and LE 20.79 for selling, compared to LE 20.37 for buying and LE 20.56 for selling in the previous day, according to the CBE.

The GBP (British Pound) slightly went down to LE 23.3 for buying and LE 23.41 for selling, up from LE 23.4 for buying and LE 23.6 for selling.

As for the Arab currencies, the Saudi Riyal decreased to LE 4.76 for buying and LE 4.79 for selling.

Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti dinar recorded LE 58.88 for buying and LE 59.61 for selling and the Emirati Dirham registered LE 4.89 for selling and LE 4.86 for buying.
