Egypt, intl. partners support private sector with $7B in 2020/22

CAIRO – 13 July 2023: Minister of International Cooperation Rania al-Mashat stated during an investment forum held in the Egyptian Embassy in Beijing that the government joined forces with international partners to support the private sector with $7 billion between 2020 and 2022.

The funding was particularly directed to firms operating in the sectors of healthcare, manufacturing, and financial markets. The minister also shed light on the initiative dubbed the Nexus of Water, Food, and Energy (NWFE) aimed at mobilizing funds to companies in those sectors, and hence, expand green economy in the country.

On their side, representatives of the Chinese companies expressed their desire to explore investment opportunities in Egypt, and inquired about incentives offered by the government.
