CAIRO - 15 June 2023: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi witnessed the inauguration of Tahya Masr multipurpose terminal at the Alexandria port.
The inauguration was attended by Defense Minister Mohamed Zaki, Transport Minister Kamel Wazir along other ministers.
During the inauguration event, transport minister stated that the cost of developing and renovating the Alexandria port cost around LE 60 billion whereas the establishment of the Tahya Misr multipurpose station cost LE 9 billion.
President El Sisi said that The Tahya Misr multipurpose maritime terminal will play a vital role in transforming the Port of Alexandria into a regional and global hub for transit trade and logistics.
El Wazir said that the President Abdel Fattah El Sisi wants Egypt to be a world trade and logistics services hub and that two important terminals are set to be established at Dekhaila port to meet the growing demand on wheat, corn and rice.
President El Sisi stressed on the importance of the integrated logistics zone in el Metras basin that will house some industrial projects for the state and major companies and said that the logistics zone expnds over 273 feddans at a cost of LE 1 billion at El-Metras basin.
President El Sisi also inaugurated the October’s first-ever dry port that is located in the industrial and logistical zone of the new 6th of October City. The port will be over an area of 100 acres, located 25 kilometers west of the existing industrial zone on the Bahariya Oasis Road with access to the regional ring road.
The Egyptian president also gave the green light on the Salloum Land Port, which is planned to be the largest land harbor in the country and will include four main terminals.
