CAIRO - 12 June 2023: Al-Ahly Club secured a reward of $4 million (around LE 124 million), after winning the African Champions League title, in addition to being qualified to the 2023 Club World Cup in which the Reds could earn an additional $1 million to $5 million, based on their performance.
The Reds raised the number of its African Champions League titles to 11 after defeating Wydad Casablanca of Morocco 3/2 in the two matches of the final round of the African Championship.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) regulation stipulates that the African champion will receive $4 million, while the runner-up will receive an amount of $2 million.
Previously, the CAF had officially announced an increase in its prize money in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Championships.
It indicated on its official website that the financial increase in the prizes for the two tournaments amounted to 40 percent, and this is within the framework of the vision of Patrice Motsepe, President of the Federation, to make African football competitions globally competitive and based on self-sufficiency.
The winner of the African Champions League, starting from the current season, will receive $4 million instead of $2.5 million.
The coming edition of the FIFA Club World Cup will be held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where the Egyptian club will represent Africa there for the 9th time in its history.
The champion of the Club World Cup in the last edition, which was held in Morocco, got $5 million, and the second-place finisher got $4 million for the runner-up.
The third-place holder also received $ 2.5 million and $ 2 million for the fourth-place holder, which Al-Ahly won in the 2022 edition in Morocco.
The fifth-place finisher gets $1.5 million, the sixth place gets one million dollars, and the seventh and final place gets $500,000.
