CAIRO – 18 July 2017: The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) chairman Mohab Mamish presented the 15 latest established projects in Ain Sokhna to President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi. The projects will contribute to the development of the area, a statement on Tuesday read.
During his meeting with the president, Mamish also displayed the latest developments happening in the SCZone. The meeting highlighted that the zone is attracting investments from mega global companies.
The chairman pointed to the successful agreement between the General Authority for the SCZone and Egypt’s Sonker Bunkering Company to build a Bulk Liquid Terminal project at Ain Sokhna port. The total investment for the project is valued at $ 500 million dollars.
After finishing all the phases of the project, the SCZone will be transferred to a local hub for ships catering to the petroleum materials trade in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Mamish said.
The presidential spokesperson Alaa Youssef mentioned the sustainable growth in the number of ships crossing the Suez Canal. The growth will enhance global trade.
