Bourse shows strong performance during Tuesday trading

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) displayed a strong performance during today’s trading to close well into the green zone amid Egyptian and Arab buying.

The benchmark index EGX 30 surged into the green by 1.88 percent to end the session at 17,354.59 points, followed by EGX 50 with a climb of 1.84 percent to 3,208.95 points

EGX 70 was up by 0.77 percent to close the session at 3,263.91 points, while EGX 100 jumped by 1.13 percent to end at 4,899.03 points.

Today’s trading saw 1.094 million shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 3.205 billion.

Market capitalization was recorded at LE 1.138 trillion.

Trading on securities saw Egyptian and Arab investors as net buyers with LE 177.42 million and LE 40.17 million, respectively. Foreign investors were net sellers with LE 217.6 million.

The top gains of the session were by Middle Egypt Flour Mills which climbed by 12.29 percent, Alexandria Flour Mills by 11.2 percent, and Medical Packaging Company by 9.99 percent.

The largest losses of the day were by Northern Upper Egypt Development & Agricultural Production which fell by 5.33 percent, Egyptian Transport (EGYTRANS) by 3.86 percent, and AJWA for Food Industries company Egypt by 3.39 percent.
