CAIRO - 18 July 2017: Egyptian Exchange (EGX) and The School of Business at The American University in Cairo (AUC) signed a memorandum of understanding MOU.
They want to capitalize on the synergies between them in supporting the Women on Boards Observatory at AUC, EGX revealed in a statement on Tuesday.
EGX will join the Women on Boards Consortium. The board was established by AUC’s School of Business in 2014.
It was formed with the intent to sensitize board members about gender issues, and to prepare women for corporate board positions.
The board will also advocate for policy and legislative changes to institutionalize gender diversity on corporate boards.
“This partnership is in line with a number of AUC’s School of Business knowledge initiatives to disseminate the research and expertise of AUC faculty throughout the region, especially in channels that would reach practitioners, business community, and policy makers,” Interim Dean Nizar Becheikh explained the importance of this new partnership.
He added that this initiative complements AUC’s School of Business vision to develop entrepreneurial and responsible global leaders, professionals, and its commitment to responsible business.
It is one of the School’s fundamental areas of focus, and an imperative vehicle for enabling inclusive and sustainable development and growth.
