EGX closes trading with mixed performance, loses LE 8B in market cap.

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday trading with a semi-collection drop, with only one index in the green.

Benchmark index EGX 30 declined by 0.57 percent to close the session at 16,764.41 points, followed by EGX 50 which fell by 0.80 percent to 3031,76 points, with EGX 100 inching down by 0.02 percent to end at 4,544.49 points.

EGX 70 was the only index in the green, gaining 0.44 percent to end the session with 3009.86 points.

Today’s trading saw 705.95 million shares exchanged with a turnover LE 1.756 billion.

Market capitalization reached LE 1.086 trillion, losing around LE 8 billion compared to yesterday’s LE 1.094 trillion at the end of trading.

Trading on securities saw Egyptian investors as net sellers with LE 83.923 million. Foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with LE 51.53 million and LE 32.392 million, respectively.

The top gains of the session were by Belton Financial Holding which climbed by 12.39 percent, Medical Packaging Company by 11.59 percent, and Egyptian Transport (EGYTRANS) 10.43 percent.

The largest losses of the session were by EL Ezz Aldekhela Steel – Alexandria which dropped by 10.26 percent, Arabian Cement Company by 6.59 percent, and Taaleem Management Services by 6 percent.
