CAIRO - 16 May 2023: Egyptian imports of durable consumer goods declined by $441.7 million from 2022.
Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics CAPMAS showed the decrease from $155.1 million in February 2022 to $559.8 million in February 2023.
The Russian-Ukrainian war led to major changes in the map of Egyptian imports, especially consumer durables, which recorded a large surplus during the first 11 months of 2022, exceeding $3 billion.
Imports of durable consumer goods recorded about $3.7 billion from January to November 2022. It was about $7.4 billion in the same period of 2021, with a decline of $3.7 billion.
